The late Abigail Gumbiner will be joined by artists Peter Holmes and Toshio Itoi for this month's exhibit at LA Artcore's Union Center for the Arts space. Holmes' penchant for color and spaces eludes form, revealing an ethereal mode of painterly abstraction. Itoi's landscapes amass thousands of marked gestures of landscapes surrounding the locale of Manzanar, California. Being the site of 1 of 10 Japanese concentration camps in the U.S. during WWII, Itoi visited the site over 40 times, amassing numerous sketches that formed the basis of the larger works on display.
